Software Engineering

About My Work

I am a full-time software engineer! I work on projects in a variety of disciplines and tech stacks both at my job and in my personal time.

My biggest area of expertise is embedded systems. I started out developing Qt-based embedded applications, but in the past year I have expanded my skillset to include embedded OS development with Yocto and library/SDK development. Outside of embedded work, I enjoy creating web apps (mostly with React) and mobile apps (mostly with Flutter). I've also cultivated expertise in DevOps with GitLab CI/CD and Docker.

No matter what sort of project I'm working on, I take pride--sometimes to a fault--in developing well-crafted and robust code. I love to see a thoughtfully designed project take shape over time. But, even more than that, I think doing so is a way for me to acknowledge Jesus in my work. Most of my personal projects (and future ideas) are explicitly Christ-centered, such as NPM packages for working with Scripture references or a Christian search engine; however, even in my projects at my job, I take the time to do things right because I believe it honors God.
